CHILDREN SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM 2022-23

 

Apply for a Scholarship for Session starting Apr - Sep 2023

 

1)     OBJECTIVE: To provide financial assistance/scholarships for higher and secondary school/college students from low-income families to meet a part of their academic tuition fees for pursuing their studies to become breadwinners for their families. Also, to support meritorious students from such families for vocational training programs.

2)     SCOPE: The scholarships will be awarded based on the student’s last examination results and the family income. Scholarships will be provided for 1 – 4 years and can include a high school / higher secondary study, a vocational training course or an entire degree program or a similar course.

3)     ELIGIBILITY: Students who have obtained above 60% marks of a particular Board Examination of Class X, XI or Class XII / 10 + 2 pattern. Preference will be given to those seeking admission to Secondary, vocational, or graduate courses since nowadays, free education is available at government schools where quality has improved. For graduate courses, the eligibility criteria will be obtaining over 75% marks for qualifying examinations or above 5000 ranks in professional CET. Students in classes 8th standard and above could also be considered based on their school marks (at least 60%) + and family income.

4)     RATE OF SCHOLARSHIPS: The rate of scholarship would be 50 – 75% of the annual school/college fees up to a maximum of Rs.50,000/- for a period of a maximum 4 years for the particular course based on achieving a minimum average of 60% for all subjects with aggregate 65% in the elective subjects year on year and passing all subjects in the year. Under exceptional circumstances, the scholarship committee might consider increasing the support to over 75% but subject to a maximum of Rs 50000.

5)     PARENTAL INCOME CEILING: Scholarships will be paid to those students who belong to the lower-income group with a total family income not exceeding  Rs.25,000/- per month. An income certificate or undertaking needs to be provided each year and the student has to fulfil all other terms and conditions stipulated for the renewal.

6)     MENTORSHIP

Each student will be paired with a mentor from RCBC who will review progress from time to time, advise, encourage and enthuse the student to perform well. It is mandatory for all students who receive a scholarship to regularly reach out to their mentors, update them, and discuss any issues they might face.
